Adrienne Zurub aka UBU (you be YOU!)

The Cleveland Plain Dealer writer, Mike McIntyre states,
"You are a Renaissance Woman!"

Adrienne Zurub aka UBU (you be YOU!) is a multi talented, multifaceted artist.  She is also "The Nurse Whisperer and a RN on the Open Heart team at Cleveland Clinic.
As a comedian, UBU had performed Stand Up at some of the best clubs in the nation.  With performances at Stand Up New York, The New York Comedy Club, Caroline's, Don't Tell Mama, Gotham's Comedy Club, The Hollywood Improv-Melrose, The Cleveland Improv, and The Cleveland Hilarities to name a few she has honed her comedic wit!  UBU participated in the Guinness Book World record for the longest running Stand Up Comedy show at the Cleveland Hilarities in which a record FIFTY-TWO hours of comedy was performed!

Officially, UBU is declared, "...one of the funniest women in America," in being published in Judi Brown's book, "She's So Funny"  a compilation of the best jokes from women comedians!

Her accomplishments in theater include writing and performing her Solo Performance work, "Notes From the Mothership", at Cleveland Public Theater under the auspices of noted playwright Sarah Morton.  She has performed at the historical Karamu Theater in Arenafest.  She performed in and was a finalist in The Manhattan  Monologue Slam at the Bowery Poetry Club in New York City.  She performed in the PlayActs Production of "My Son Alex."

Her filmography (a fancy term for films I was in) includes "SpiderMan 3,"  Director, Jason Tomaric's, "The Overcoat" and "The World without US."   She is in the acclaimed, "The Lords of Praxton" by Director-Producer, Peter Fields; as well as British Director Brendon Connelly's, "Grey Goo."  She is featured in "Attrition"  an Independent Motion Picture that premiered at The New York Film Festival and the Ohio Film Festival as well.
UBU is a writer and actor in the forthcoming sketch comedy pilot for PAX television entitled, "The Mark Norton Show."

In November 2005, Adrienne received the Editor's Choice Award  for Outstanding Achievement in Poetry, presented by poetry.com and the International Library of Poetry.  UBU was one of three finalists forPoet Laureate of Cleveland Heights 2006!  She is a WINNER in the prolific National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) writing over 50,000 words of her soon to be published novel, "Notes From the Mothership."
UBU participated in Tellabration, The National Storytelling Event, where her rich stories and poetry were described as, "EXuberant!"  "Spirited"  "Moving" and "You were Great!"

Adrienne (and UBU) has an Associate Degree in Nursing, a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, and a Master's Degree in Philosophy  with a Concentration in Bioethics.   She applied to and was accepted into Law School but decided not to go to pursue her artistic selves.
Adrienne is a member of the National Speaker's Association, Ohio Chapter.  She is member of AORN.  She is a Soror of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

Both Adrienne and UBU have trained at the American Comedy Institute in New York City, Second City, Judy Carter Workshops in New York City and California, The Manhattan Monologue Slam in New York, and North Coast casting with Ray Szuch.  She has taken workshops with Tracy Newman, the writer for The World According to Jim,"  Tim Begley of "Will and Grace,"  and Rick Overton, an LA based actor and comedian.
Her acting coach is the noted Victor D'Altorio.

Her interests are sleeping, World Travel, reading, and quietly judging others, internet link addiction, and buying modern works of art.  She wants to form a band and name it, Adrienne against Mondays!
She is also infamously known as The Nurse Whisperer.
