Coming to the Cleveland Clinic was truly a 'homecoming' for Adrienne.  Cardiac surgery was the service she specifically came for.  "I can not tell you how very excited I was (and still am) to be part of the Open Heart team at Cleveland Clinic.  I was and am proud!  The cases we do are incredible.  The patients I meet and talk with preoperatively and intraoperatively come from all over the world."

Adrienne has Medical-Surgical experience working at one time for 3 separate Nursing Agencies.
She is a member of AORN.  And continues her educational pursuits as well as the noted artistic pursuits.

The Nurse Whisperer Presentations are all about truth and empowerment.  Your truth!  Your empowerment!
Philosophically and metaphysically, Nursing is what it is.  The problem(s) with Nursing is you!  Your expectations, your insecurities, your doubts, your fears, your unrequited needs for affection, attention, love, etc. and so forth (see Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs).

YOU have to raise YOUR standard.  You have to rediscover your self-confidence.
This presentation is built on the holistic exploring, defining, and utilizing strategies for being yourself, strengthening your inner core, with the benefits of ripple effects in your life...and your career(s)!

Relational management topics:

The OR can be like High School all over again:  Dealing with negative behavior (cliques, back-biting, gossip, and 'the set-up, the adult wedgie!)

UBU (you be YOU!):  The development and confessions of a Stand Up Comedian/Actor/Speaker/Writer/POet/Wife/Mother, someone to everyone, taking the time to explore and DISCOVER herself.  Discovering & Inventing who and what you are!  Full of humor, emotion and inspiration.  There is life outside the OR.  Taking responsibility for ourselves first!  A motivational, inspirational, and empowering presentation.

Discover your inner BLACK WOMAN!  "What would Oprah do?  How would Rosa Parks handle this?  What would Barbara Jordan tell that surgeon, or that condescending doctor?"  Stereotypes aside, Black women are known for taking little to no BS, no insults, nor behavior that dehumanizes or belittles them.  Let's see what we can learn and put into play from our Sisters!

There is LIFE outside the OR!
Coming out of the insular and routine environment of the OR can be scary.  Imagine going from being someone who can do an Ascending Aorta aneursym with coronary reimplantation, replace the aortic valve  a five-time reop on a 78 year-old on a balloon pump, after first dissecting out and cannulating the right subclavian artery; and cannulating the femoral vein with and ECHMO cannula.  Let's not forget the 2-3 hours of dissection after the chest is finally successfully opened!
Then, to challenge yourself pursuing something you always wanted to do?!  From the bottom?!  IT CAN BE DONE!  Let's explore strategies to nurture and discover your other selves and become the WHOLE person you are meant to be!!!

Upon successful attendance at the Presentation you can join my band: PRE-OP & SEND.
